Mental Health in a Changing World
In today’s rapidly evolving world—shaped by technological shifts, disinformation, and global instability—mental health is more vulnerable than ever. While the World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes mental well-being as a basic human right, access to mental health care remains far from equal. Many people face significant barriers: overcrowded public services, stigma, and the high cost of private mental health support.
At our NGO, we are committed to breaking these barriers by offering free mental health workshops and individual counselling sessions. Our services are especially focused on marginalized communities, including people on the move and migrant workers, who are often excluded from mainstream care.
We are in the process of finding a safe and inclusive physical space in Zagreb where we will be offering in-person counselling sessions.
If time is of an essence, contact us via mail: info@pop-info.hr and we will try to find a solution together.
CBT and Psychodrama
We combine two approaches:
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – CBT helps individuals understand and change unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours that contribute to emotional distress. It's particularly effective for challenges like anxiety, depression, and stress management.
-
Psychodrama Methods – Psychodrama uses guided role-playing and creative expression to explore personal and interpersonal issues. It offers a dynamic way to gain insight, release emotions, and improve communication.
A Culturally Aware Approach
We have experience, knowledge and empathetic understanding of how different beliefs, values, religions, traditions, ethnicity, genders, sexual orientations and financial status are shaping someones' reality. We are very sensitive when approaching people from minority backgrounds. Actually, this sensitivity is extended to all individuals, not only to those from non-Western cultures. We also recognize that larger societal systems—such as capitalism, patriarchy, and gender inequality—impact mental health. When relevant, these topics can be explored during individual sessions, because understanding the world around us can be key to understanding ourselves.
